Public chips in to fund ACTION’s Chikara Program

ACTION is deeply grateful to its partners: JURO SALON EXCLUSIF, FISHER MALL SUPERMARKET-Malabon, FISHER MALL SUPERMARKET-Quezon Avenue, TAKO TAKO DAN, THE GENERICS PHARMACY branches in Gerona, Abucay, Castillejos, and San Marcelino, and 711 Stores for the success of the public solicitation through coin banks.

Ms. Rose Velasco and Mr. Jude Hipolito of JURO Salon Exclusif turnover the coin bank to Mr. Hajime Yokota

The coin banks generated a total amount of Php. 54, 883.16. This is despite the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These solicited funds were utilized to augment the implementation of Chikara Projects such as Dance No Chikara (Power of Dance), Karate no Chikara (Power of Karate), Child Protection Sessions, and Adolescent Reproductive Health Project. A total of 242 children from partner residential care facilities, communities, and schools benefitted from this.

Partner-beneficiaries for this Public Solicitation are the following: International Children’s Advocate-Ninos Pag-asa Center in Olongapo City, Jireh Children’s Home in Castillejos, Zambales, and Alliance for Children and Community Transformation in Dinalupihan, Bataan. Children participating in the Chikara Program of ACTION are also beneficiaries of this Public Solicitation.

With the evident success of this, ACTION plans to relaunch the National Fund-Raising Campaign through the distribution of brochures and placement of coin banks in various establishments in the country and adding online solicitation through the website and social media pages. ACTION hopes that the next campaign would reach more people to raise awareness on the situation of children and youth in residential care facilities and impoverished communities and to raise funds that will continuously support the programs and services of ACTION.
