Fifteen (15) children (6 boys and 9 girls) from ACTION’s Karate no Chikara Project competed with participants from different dojos in the Kyokushin Karate Summer Clinic 2016. The tournament took place at Anabu City Mall, Imus, Cavite on 13 May 2016.
After eleven hours of competition, the event was concluded with one of ACTION’s delegates winning 2nd place in the Men’s Division. The rest of the children also gave their best in every match, executing their knowledge and skill in Karate. Although most of them lost, the children enjoyed the event and are determined to get better for the next event.
The delegation came from ACTION’s partner residential facilities and community-based organizations, including People’s Recovery Empowerment Development Assistance (PREDA) Foundation-Home for boys and Home for Girls, Jireh Children’s Home Inc., and Tayo Ang Tinig At Gabay (TATAG) Inc.
This activity helps children develop self-esteem and teamwork. ACTION looks forward to helping more children and helping the children more, through Chikara activities, with continuing support from partners.
