On 13thof December 2017, Iyashi no Chikara (Power of Therapy) celebrated the Graduation Exercises of its 7th Batch in Quezon City. A total of 10 trainees (3 male and 7 female) successfully completed the Basic Massage Therapy Course. The training include topics on Swedish, Shiatsu and Pinoy Hilot Massage with a total of 27 sessions.
To start the activity, Ms. Myrna Selda led the opening prayer. It was followed by a simple message from Ms. Mary Joy Marbida, Project Coordinator of ACTION Inc. She welcomed the guests and congratulated the graduates of Batch 7 for completing the massage training. A slideshow presentation of the journey of the Batch 7 was also presented. The graduates were happy to reminisce and see their progress through the photos.
Hon. Roberto G. Fortuno, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Vasra was the guest speaker. He congratulated the graduates for their success and wished for them to apply their new skills to gain additional income and help their families. He also expressed his gratitude to ACTION Inc. for giving this opportunity to the people of Brgy. Vasra and hoped to have another batch of training for their Barangay.
Afterwards, the graduates showcased their skills in massage therapy by demonstrating chair / seated massage to the guests and staff. The guests and staff were happy and satisfied with the demonstration.
Partner from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR), Ms. Raquel P. Avecilla, Area Coordinator / SWO 4 of Operations Office 4 also shared a message for the graduates. Ms. Raquel congratulated the graduates and happy to witness and be part of the event. She also expresses her willingness to partner with ACTION and gather participants from Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4P’s) to be part of the next batch of massage training.
Certificates of completion together with the massage starter kit were awarded by Hon. Roberto G. Fortuno, Ms. Raquel P. Avecilla, Ms. Mary Joy Marbida and Iyashi no Chikara Massage Instructor, Ms. Rosalinda Nuqui. There were also special awards given to Ms. Myrna Selda for being the most punctual during trainings and Mr. Glenwhel Eries Dator for his perfect attendance and outstanding performance.
Mr. Glenwhel Eries Dator expressed his gratitude to ACTION Inc. and to Brgy. Vasra for giving him this opportunity. Mr. Dator has long wanted to have a formal training on massage therapy and considers the project of ACTION Inc as a blessing. He also congratulated his batch mates and thanked them for the memories they had.
To close the event ACTION’s Project Officer, Ms. Jewel Mae Canare, thanked the guests for gracing the event. She also expressed gratitude to the partners for their unending support to ACTION Inc. and congratulated the graduates for completing the Basic Massage Training.
