ACTION organized a fun-filled General Assembly cum Christmas Party for the CHIKARA Program beneficiaries on 28th of December 2015 at the Msgr. Crisostomo A. Cacho’s Activity Center, Columban College, Olongapo City. 103 kids and staff of Social Development Center, Center for Youth, International Children’s Advocate, Inc. Niños Pag-asa Center, People’s Recovery Empowerment and Development Assistance (PREDA) Foundation, Jireh Children’s Home, Tayo Ang Tinig At Gabay Inc., and parent beneficiaries from partner communities enjoyed the games facilitated by the volunteers from AKBAY Youth Organization. These games, which brought happiness and laughter to children, were Stop Dance with a Twist, Christmas Carol, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Japanese Relay, Bring Me among others. Winning kids were given prizes.
The kids also showcased their dance talents to tunes of Rock Medley (Instrumental) and Twerk it like Miley (Remix) in between games to the delight of staff, and guests who attended. Among the guests were Mr. Naruse, a representative of a group of donors in Japan, as well as Fr. Shay Cullen, the founder and President of PREDA Foundation, a partner facility of ACTION.
Mr. Hajime Yokota, the founder of ACTION also gave a message. He extended his gratitude to everyone and wished them happiness for the season.
Before the event ended, gifts bearing hygiene kits, courtesy of the generous sponsors, were distributed to all the beneficiaries of the CHIKARA Program. The kids were also given notebooks, pad papers, pens, pencils, and crayons among others, courtesy of the Samasti Yoga group. The Samasti Yoga members opted to donate to these children rather than their Christmas party.
ACTION extends its gratitude to all the partner facilities and communities, volunteers and especially to the sponsors and donors particularly Columban College, Samasti Yoga, Mr. Hiroyuki Yoshimura, Mr. Hiroyuki Tsuneishi, Mr. Yoichi Tsuyumu, Mr. Satoki Wakiyama and Mr. Akihiro Yoshida who made the celebration for the Chikara beneficiaries extra special by sharing their blessings.
We hope to get more support for more CHIKARA activities! Once again, THANK YOU!
