Call for Applications: Hairdressing Instructor

JOB VACANCY

Job Assignment Title: Hairdressing Instructor for NGO ACTION’s Power of Scissors/Hasami no Chikara Program

Work Area: Mainly based at ACTION, Inc. Malabon City Office (with occasional travel to ACTION, Inc. Olongapo Office)

Salary: Negotiable; based on qualifications and experience

Employment Classification: Project-based Employment

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and/or enhance the training curriculum of Hasami no Chikara Training;
  2. Develop learning materials for students;
  3. Closely coordinate with the Volunteer Instructors of Hasami from the Philippines and Japan;
  4. Conduct necessary activities to gather potential students and be involved in the student selection process;
  5. Facilitate the learning activities, administer tests, and evaluate students progress;
  6. Ensure that every activity implemented is in line with the project objective and goal;
  7. Coordinate with the Project Officer and Project Coordinator on every technical aspect needed for the project;
  8. Engage in a positive working relationship with partners, children and other stakeholders;
  9. Ensure the timely submission of quality accomplishments reports on project progress;
  10. Participate in staff and/or network meetings, orientations, workshops, trainings as necessary;
  11. Maintain professional conduct at all times and refrain from any activity that may damage the reputation of the organization;
  12. Engage himself/herself in other ACTION projects for the purpose of understanding the purpose and mission of ACTION; and
  13. Perform other duties as required by the Project Coordinator / Executive Director from time to time.

 

General qualifications and requirements:

Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience as hairdresser
  • At least 1 year experience in teaching/training/supervising informal or formal hairdressing training

 

Certifications:

  • Holder of National Certificate II for Hairdressing
  • Preferably a Trainer Methodology I passer, but not required

 

Character Qualifications:

  1. Must not have any child protection violation and must be willing to sign the Child Protection Policy of ACTION
  2. Must have good moral character
  3. Must have good interpersonal relationship and work attitude
  4. Must be willing to be trained by Professional Hairdressers from the Philippines and Japan
  5. Can work under pressure
  6. Can work independently
