The Rotary Club of Metro Olongapo (RCMO) awarded a check worth forty-seven thousand (47,000) pesos or USD1,000 to ACTION on June 27, 2016. The funds will be used to supplement ACTION’s Chikara (Power) Program by equipping the ACTION Chikara Studio in Olongapo City with hydraulic chairs for haircut training. Acquiring hydraulic chairs for the Chikara Studio can help simulate working environment in a salon during haircut training. This will better prepare the participants for employment opportunities in the future. The remainder of the funds will be used to purchase materials for the different trainings under the Chikara Program.
The check was awarded to ACTION after a short meeting conducted at ACTION Chikara Studio. In attendance for the turn-over were incoming RCMO President, Mr. Polyne Llanora and other RCMO members including Ms. Emily Fancuberta, Mr. Tirso Dela Cruz, Mr. Danny Santos and Mr. Johany Escano. ACTION’s very own board members, Mr. Vitt Guttierez and Mr. Israel Ortega, who are also active RCMO members were also present. Mr. Guttierez and Mr. Ortega helped secure this donation, for and on behalf, of ACTION and its Chikara beneficiaries.
The check was received by ACTION representatives: Mr. Emmanuel Drewery, Mr. Hubert Lemuel Anonat and Ms. Mara Ginarie Esperas.
The RCMO has been a long time partner of ACTION. ACTION hopes for continuing partnership between the two organizations.
