ACTION successfully concluded the 8th Commencement Exercises of Iyashi no Chikara last June 26, 2018 at ACTION Chikara Project Studio. The program was graced by the presence of Mr. Benjamin S. Danglapin, a Supervising, TESD Specialist of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Office of Zambales, Ms. Ginarie Esperas, Social Worker from the Center for Youth and Mr. Hajime Yokota, the Founder and Executive Director of ACTION.
Fourteen (14) participants have completed the 80 hours of Swedish, Shaitsu and Traditional (Hilot) Wellness Massage Training. They were from several referrals from former Iyashi no Chikara trainees and partner residential care facilities. They also received Certificates of Completion and Massage Starter Kit after the event.
“A driver’s license has different types: student’s license, non-professional license and professional license. This training is the same. The Commencement Exercises is just the start of being a Massage Therapist; you should continue to study and practice the skills that you have acquired in this training for you to pass the National Certification II (NCII) Examination of TESDA. After that, you should continue to improve your skills,” said Mr. Hajime Yokota in his Opening Message.
Mr. Benjamin S. Danglapin also gave a message and congratulated the graduates. He encouraged them to take the NCII Examination.
Afterwards, a short video of the graduate’s journey before and after the four (4) months long training was presented. Also, during the ceremony, the graduates have showcased their learned skill through demonstrating massage to the guests.
“Continuous learning is the key to success,” said Mr. Ferdinand Viray one of the graduates, in his testimonial message. Incidentally, he was also the Most Outstanding Trainee of the 8th Batch.
To end the program, Ms. Ginalyn Geniza expressed her happiness for the dedication of the graduates for completing the four-month long training. She told the graduates to use the knowledge and skills that they acquired to improve themselves and their families.
Congratulations to all graduates of Iyashi no Chikara Batch 8!
